Sterling City, located in North Carolina, is the fourth most populous city in the United States. With a population of 2.5 million and an additional 5 million which live in the metropolitan area, Sterling City is behind only New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Sterling City is the seat of Dare County, but also extends into Tyrell and Hyde counties.
Sterling City was incorporated as a city in 1799 on the site of Sterling Keep as a port city in the midst of population boom brought on by the discovery of rich silver mines beneath the keep from which it derived it’s name. Today, the city is an international hub for finance, commerce, industry, and culture. It is the main port on the east coast, with more aquatic traffic than even New York City.
Sterling City is renown for it’s incredibly unique culture. A mixture of Russian, Irish, and English heritage combine to form this truly unique city. Felix Lazlo’s Enlightenment Movement also contributed to the city’s distinct and immediately recognizable outlook on life and spiritualism.
